about

Between 2000 an 2014 I worked as aid worker mainly in comflict zones, like Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq, Somalia... The sound of this album is based on the rough experiences in these conflict regions. The skies were mostly deep blue and promisingly positive during those years.... At the same time the same blue skies were dangerous, with the appearance of war planes, drones, gunships, and on the ground suffering people, full of fear. The days with a deep blue sky were the most dangerous in these conflict zones.
I created the sounds I felt like in a time machine, I went back to these regions, remembered the people there, had memories of my fellow colleagues, national and international, heard the sound of distant shelling in the night or day or the humming of a drone circling over the region again, remembered the stories of people who were in the war zones, suffered from bombing, night raids, being trapped between warring parties and lost their beloved ones. I dedicate this album to all people who are suffering in these terrible conflict zones, from Syria to Iraq from Somalia to Yemen to Afghanistan, from Sudan to Tigray/Ethiopia, and now Ukraine.... I dedicate this album also to all who are supporting with all their heart the suffering victims in such terrifying times of war. It seems these wars will never end.....
